Bonny Doon

Population: 2,678

Bonny Doon is an unincorporated community which extends north from Davenport to the area above the San Lorenzo Valley.  Despite the fact that Boony Doon is situated in the Santa Cruz Mountains, residential areas have been developed on large-sized, level parcels.

Much of Bonny Doon’s heritage is Scottish. In fact, the town was named after a popular Scottish song, “The Banks O’ Doon” as coined by John Burns, a Scottish native who settled in Boony Doon in the 1850’s.  Today, the area is best known for its natural and dramatic beauty, desirable weather and wineries, such as the infamous Randall Grahm’s Bonny Doon Winery.
