Capitola

Population: 10,500

Area: 2.0 sq. miles

Located on California’s coastline between Aptos and Soquel is charming Capitola, the state’s oldest seaside resort town.

The Village area was originally founded as a resort, “Camp Capitola,” in 1869 and later incorporated as a city in 1949. Capitola offers a quaint village feeling, of a Mediterranean seaside town, while the Uper Village serves as the commercial hub of the city. Recently, Captiola was named in ‘Top 20 Small Towns in the West’ by Sunset Magazine as the top “ocean side view” category.
